Strata Geotech delivers fast, accurate window sample drilling for ground investigations, contamination assessments, and geotechnical design. Our NEW Archway Competitor rig combines low-impact access with the depth and testing capability reliably — giving consultants and contractors a single, reliable solution from site mobilisation through to logged samples and reporting.

Capabilities

What we do.

A focused service line, executed to a high standard. We work directly for developers, architects, landowners and civil & structural engineers — and as specialist subcontractors to multidisciplinary consultancies.

The Rig
  • Brand-new Archway Competitor lightweight tracked rig with calibrated hammer and current PUWER certification.
  • Minimum tracked width of just 600 mm for through-gateway and side-return access, with 30 m hose reach for restricted or stand-off locations.
  • Mast can be operated fully remotely with diesel or electric hydraulic pump for the most restricted areas. Min access width 450 mm untracked.

  • Windowless sampling to 10 m BGL
  • DPSH to 10 m BGL
  • Casing to 10 m BGL
  • Hand-dug starter pits where service clearance demands it
  • Greater than 10 m available on request
In-Situ Testing
  • Standard Penetration Test (SPT)
  • Cone Penetration Test (CPT)
  • Dynamic Probing Super Heavy (DPSH)
  • U4t (U100) and U70 samples for high-quality, undisturbed samples for accurate laboratory geotechnical testing
  • Hand Shear Vane (HSV) on cohesive samples
  • All available from the same setup, reducing return visits and keeping programmes tight.
Logging & Reporting
  • Drillers logs supplied as standard via Drillit Logs
  • AGS format data standard
  • Photographic log of arisings
  • Full logging to BS 5930 standards available on request
  • Samples prepared for onward laboratory analysis
  • Lab testing with established UKAS-accredited UK testing laboratories such as Chemtech, GSTL, I2 Analytical
  • Custom service to suit client's specific needs
Installations & Monitoring
  • Standpipes for gas and groundwater monitoring fitted on completion
  • Spec. of installs and backfill as required
  • Follow-up monitoring visits available
Crewing & Compliance
  • One or two-man crews to suit the job
